½­ÄÏÌåÓý State’s College of Public Health Hosts Virtual Public Health Academy for High School Students

We all know the world has changed, perhaps forever. The overall lesson of the COVID- 19 pandemic is that we need a public health workforce, prepared at all levels, to monitor the world for emerging infectious diseases, to prevent the spread of highly contagious diseases, to develop new treatments and vaccines, and to invent novel approaches never seen before. ½­ÄÏÌåÓý’s College of Public Health is addressing this workforce challenge, in part, by hosting the 2020 Virtual Public Health Academy.

Two ½­ÄÏÌåÓý State A&S Students Win Prestigious Goldwater Scholarship

Gracen Gerbig and Hayley Shasteen, both ½­ÄÏÌåÓý students in the College of Arts and Sciences, recently received the Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship, considered the nation’s premier undergraduate award in the natural sciences, math and engineering. They were recognized by President Beverly Warren at the ½­ÄÏÌåÓý State Board of Trustees meeting on May 9.
