TRIO Programs
There are five federal TRIO Programs at ½ÄÏÌåÓý: Upward Bound Classic, Upward Bound Math/Science, Upward Bound Public Health, Student Support Services and The McNair Scholars Program.
Office of Student Research
½ÄÏÌåÓý is ranked among the nation's top public research universities for good reason. We encourage all students to work closely with faculty members, and engage in scholarly research and creative activities. Through engagement in research, students at all levels develop new skills, broaden their career options, bring classroom concepts to life, share in the excitement of discovery, collaborate with others, and contribute to the advancement of knowledge in their chosen field. This contribution can be in the form of new knowledge, interpretation of knowledge, or artistic/creative performance.

Success Coaching moves students toward achieving their academic goals while focusing on school and life balance.
Exploratory Advising Center
½ÄÏÌåÓý is the recipient of the 2015 Institutional Excellence for Students in Transition Award by the National Resource Center for the First-Year Experience and Students in Transition. ½ÄÏÌåÓý State received the award for its Exploration Plan Program housed in the University College, which is designed to enrich the freshman experience for undecided students and to expedite a shift into a degree-granting program within the first three semesters.

Porthouse Theatre
Since 1968, Porthouse Theatre has entertained scores of Northeast Ohio audiences and provided training opportunities for countless developing theatre artists. Every summer, more than 20,000 guests enjoy the Porthouse experience, picnicking with friends and family before enjoying a professional production in our comfortable 500 seat covered outdoor theatre.
